for those using lulu, here is the file preparation page that will give you instructions for both your text file and your cover file.

TEXT TRIM (BLEED)
add .25″ bleed — example: 7″ x 9″ trim requires a 7.25″ x 9.25″ document

WRAP AROUND COVER TRIM (BLEED)
add .25″ bleed to top/bottom + .125″ to either left/right edge + thickness of spine. example below has a .25″ wide spine:
example: 7″ x 9″ trim plus .25″ spine document size — 7.25″ + 18.25″ + .25″
